At CyberPower, we are committed to offer valued power protection products with not only quality but reliability.
While concerning about the serious environmental impact, we strongly believe that “Engineering Excellence
drives Energy Efficiency” hence lead to the launch of GreenPower UPS™ technology.
Additionally, as recognizing the commitment in innovation, excellence, and efficiency extends throughout the organization, CyberPower has adopted Green practices and management certification throughout
the business, including: adoption of Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS), compliance
with Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) protocol, certification of ENERGY STARR,
receiving ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and IECQ QC 080000 HSPM Hazardous
Substance Process Management Standards, a comprehensive lead-free solder reliability analysis,
and ongoing “greening” of all packaging practices and materials to ensure the maximum contribution
to the environment.

ENERGY STAR, a joint program between government, businesses and individuals,
is nourished with the intention to promote environmental protection through
energy-efficient products and practices, in this case, the product specification for UPS.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S Department of
Energy (DOE) has announced the finalizations of Version 1.0 ENERGY STAR
Specification for UPS and effected on August 1, 2012. According to ENERGY STAR,
ENERGY STAR certified UPS can cut energy losses by 30-55%. If all UPS sold in the
US in 2012 were ENERGY STAR qualified, this could prevent greenhouse gas
emissions equivalent to the emissions from more than 636,000 vehicles! CyberPower,
as one of the major stakeholders of this meaningful project, has been actively taking
part in the development process with positive feedback and contribution. By having all
UPS products certified steps by steps, CyberPower UPS could be claimed as
ENERGY STAR certified for US and Canada market now and EU market as well in
the near future!
IECQ QC 080000 is a Hazardous Substance Process Management (HSPM)-based
standard in response to the European Restrictions of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directives. With its
comprehensive scope, QC 080000 is viewed as supplement to the ISO 9001 Quality
Management Systems (QMS) framework for the systematic management and control
of processes pursuant to Hazardous Substance Free (HSF) goals. Through
IECQ accreditation, it satisfies regulators that the manufacturing processes are free
of hazardous materials.
With the certification from IECQ, CyberPower is proved to be both technical- and
quality-compliant with HSF. We assure the global marketplace the processes in place
to properly manage CyberPower products for HSF through the compliance with laws
and highest industry standards.
ISO 14001 is an internationally-accepted standard which specifies requirements
for an Environmental Management System (EMS) to enable an organization to
develop and implement policies and guidelines which take into account all possible
legal requirements and information about significant environmental aspects.
This certification is applicable to all kinds of organization with the intention to
establish, implement, maintain and improve an EMS to reduce the environmental
footprint and decrease the pollution and waste generated from it. With the certification
of ISO 14001, CyberPower has integrated it with other management functions
throughout the business to assist in meeting further environmental and
 economic goals.
The RoHS(Restriction of Hazardous Substances) is in place to restrict the use of
 certain hazardous substances, including Lead(Pb), Mercury(Hg), Cadmium(Cd),
Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+),Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and Polybrominated
diphenyl ether (PBDE) in electrical and electronic equipment. To be complied with
the RoHS Directives, CyberPower implements internal controls throughout the business,
including adopting qualified materials and components during design and
manufacturing process, building up the audit process and quality management to
ensure its compliance of RoHS regulations. For easy identification, the RoHS compliant
logo has been placed on all CyberPower product packing indicates the full compliance
to the RoHS Directive as well as the manufacturing of eco-friendly product.
The European Union (EU) has developed the Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment (WEEE) Directive which imposes the responsibility on the manufacturers
regarding the disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment. To be compliant with
WEEE protocol, companies should establish an infrastructure for collecting waste electrical
and electronic equipment so that users from private households could have the possibility
of returning at least free of charge. Also, the companies are obliged to utilize the collected
waste in an eco-friendly manner, either by ecological disposal or through
reuse/refurbishment to reduce waste generation and its impact on the environment.
All CyberPower UPS products have been manufactured in compliance with WEEE
Directive for years. For easy identification, the WEEE compliant logo is placed on all
product packing to indicate the state of full compliance with the WEEE Directive as
well as the manufacturing of eco-friendly product.
